My first final and i'm already crying
No, really. I cried during my spanish oral exam. Right there, in a little room with a spanish instructor, I started crying and I couldn't control myself. And no, it wasn't because he asked me a question about my testimony, but because I knew I was going to fail, because I knew it was painful to listen to me try to come up with sentences in Spanish and I knew no matter how long I tried, the words just weren't coming to me. I went over stuff I could say before hand, I had things ready to say, but when the time came, I couldn't say anything. I was nervous, I wanted to run away and couldn't.
If this exam was a precursor to how the rest of my finals are going to go, I expect a lot more tears. The worst part about all of this, I still have two classes and an interview with my stake president today; all the while, i'll be running through my awful exam over and over, bringing tears back each time.

Luckily in Peru if you don't know a word in Spanish you can just stare at the person and laugh and then all is well. You'll be here soon enough! The future is bright!

DeleteCarolina what Spanish class were you in? When I took my first oral exam for Spanish 105, I totally thought I had failed. I couldn't remember how to say anything, and I said something that made absolutely no sense. I don't remember what it was I said, I just remember the instructor looking at me like I was crazy and then when I realized my mistake, I looked at him in horror because I didn't even know how to correct myself. I really thought I had failed that exam. But then it turned out they gave me an A anyways. I think they take into account that people get really nervous over those exams. So don't stress out about it. There's still hope!
